ABOUT THE MOVIE: When a film project she tries to do on a former teen idol fails, Amanda Rosenblatt decides to stop feeling sorry for herself and set out on a journey to explore who she is and what she belongs to: the world of pop culture fanaticism. Through displaying the good, the bad, the ugly, and the amazing sides of what it means to be a fanatic with years of footage, the film maker’s goal is to explore the roots of pop culture fanaticism, to bring positive light to these subcultures and above all, to show that the true fanatic’s goal is not to crawl into the lives of the people they look up to. Rather the fanatic strives to find their own life meanings and goals through their interests, or merely to use their fandom to get through each day. With interviews from everyday people aka the fans, as well as such figures as Josh Gates (“Destination Truth”) and Morgan Spurlock (“Super Size Me”) plus more, including footage throughout history, fanATOMY is sure to leave you with nostalgic memories of your first concert, the first poster you ever hung on your wall, or to live on as a message to other fans that you truly are okay being you.

MORE INFO: This film is not for profit. All footage was given permission to use with credit, or is used with credit under fair use due to the educational nature of this documentary. Though this film is non profit, the film will be dedicated to those who lost their lives, the families of all victims, or those wounded during the Aurora CO “The Dark Knight Rises” shooting incident, and the film maker encourages donations be made to those affected by the violence in any way possible.
